Are You Curious About The Logo Designing Process?

A question that I'm often asked is, What is the process of creating a logo, and how involved will I be?

Creating a logo is a very collaborative process. I'm not sure if other designers feel territorial about the process, but I'm here to share! Designing a logo typically involves several stages, and a client’s involvement is crucial for a gorgeous and useful outcome. Honest feedback is key!

The first step is discovery and research. This phase involves understanding your business, the target audience, industry, and competitors. Gathering this information helps to figure out concepts that can be used for the design.

Concept Development: Based on the research,
mood boards and initial logo ideas are created. Mood boards are super important in this process because it allows me, the designer, and you to get on the same creative page. When logos are present based on our initial consult, nothing should feel like a surprise.

Feedback: Present the initial concepts to the client for feedback. This stage involves discussing what works, what doesn’t, and why. Client input is essential for refining the design. It’s also really important to not hold back and be as honest as possible, and this is where the first two steps of the process are really crucial.

Polishing: Based on the feedback, the selected concept is polished and developed. This may involve one or two more rounds of revisions.

Finalizing: Once the final design is approved, the logo is prepared in various formats (vector files, raster images, etc.) for different uses. Brand guidelines are created to make sure everything look “on-brand” and consistent!
